Brothers Osborne have proved that they can go full-throttle; I think they’re best when they go all-out. When they let it fly musically- take time to add another guitar solo, punch up the volume, and forget what the word “restraint”– they shine. That was on display when they played “Shoot Me Straight” off their new album Port Saint Joe on “The Late Show.” The reigning Vocal Duo of the Year showed they have chops off the mic, letting it rip while in sepia tone.
It was the first time I can remember seeing a band put a camera filter on their performance, which was a shame. It took away from the set design and stage lighting. But it sent a message: these are old school fellas, lookin’ to bring a big sound to modern country.
