After releasing “Cry Pretty” to rave reviews and performing live at the 53rd Annual ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood took to the Bobby Bones Show to answer some questions about the last few months. Bobby asked her specifically about how she fell, how bad the injury was and how she feels now that she’s back with new music.

“I fell down… it set me back, the most frustrating part was trying to work out with a broken wrist and how much it can throw off your world, having an appendage that’s there, but you can’t use.”

On the fall and injury to the face:

“Yeah, I was taking the dogs out and I just, I tripped, and there’s was one step and I didn’t let go of the leashes. Priorities! So, that’s why my left hand is fine. I went to catch myself and just missed a step. If I would’ve fallen anywhere else I would’ve looked just fine.”

“I’ve been very fortunate in the healing process. I was lucky that when it happened we had the holidays and everything, but I was at a point where I didn’t know how it was going to end up… ”

How often she’ll talk about the fall:

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be done talking about it, because it was an event in my life and I’m okay.”

On her son:

“Now he’s sweet, for a while I was worried he would be scared of me, but now if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘your boo-boos all gone.'”

On being back:

“It feels good to be back. It always feels good, but it feels good.”

Carrie recently announced that she will release Cry Pretty, her first studio album on Capitol Records Nashville on September 14.  “Cry Pretty” has already topped the iTunes Top Songs charts in 12 countries and quickly racked up over 1.3 million streams in the U.S. with only two days of reporting.
