There aren’t many songs more inspiring than Carrie Underwood’s “Champion.” The song, which features Ludacris, is an upbeat, powerful song. The kind of thing you play to get hyped up for a workout.

A group of her young fans from Public School 22 in Staten Island, New York took the song to the next level, turning the anthem into a song of empowerment for a new generation.

“Each and every one of you is most definitely a champion!” Underwood responded to the video. “So much love for the @PS22Chorus.This made my day!!!

The song culminated with solos from a group of students as their classmates flexed and sang their hearts out.

The chorus director Gregg Breinberg praised his students on Facebook, writing, “Carrie Underwood’s hot new single #TheChampion (ft. Ludacris) has brought us a lot of joy — first the thrill of the PS22 Chorus cameo in Carrie’s official video, and second?? THIS!!! And the all-caps and exclamation points don’t even begin to do this justice… Massive props to the chorus on this one for bringing some atomic energy and killer harmony, our wicked cool rappers Joshua & Madison, drummer extraordinaire Quentin, and lil’ powerhouse Leiara who blew us away with that KO solo!! Champions indeed!!”
