It’s a well-known fact that the late Johnny Cash was a God-fearing man. He often sang about the gospel and made it known that he believed that there is in fact a higher power — God.
In an interview that was recorded in October of 1996, Johnny shared his thoughts on the gospel, prayer and whether he could ever become a preacher, as well as lighter topics like his choice to wear all black and who his friends were — “long-hairs,” as he called them.
“I’ve always hung out with long-hairs. I’ve always hung out with people of that ilk. I’m one of the originals. I had sideburns down to my chin in ’50- For a while there I did,” he said.
What a legend.
