If there weren’t already enough reasons to love Kane Brown and Jimmie Allen, this duo just gave us all one more at the Academy Country Music Awards.
Kane and Jimmie are two of the few artists of color in country music, but they have made their way and achieved their success with their incredible talent and remarkable enthusiasm for the format, not because of the color of their skin. Still, they had to have a little fun behind-the- scenes at the ACMs. And Kane just had to share it on his socials so we could all share the chuckle.

In a tweet, he revealed that one of the talent handlers at the show approached Jimmie. He writes, “When a girl walks up behind @jimmieAllen at the ACM Awards and says, ‘Hey Mr. Brown, we are ready for you’…and he says, ’Oh sorry, you’re looking for the other black guy.’ Love ya dude!!”

Jimmie has been a frequent visitor on NBC’s “Today” show. His romantic first single, “Best Shot,” was a two-week number-one in 2018. He and his team recently released the second single from his debut album, Mercury Lane, the uptempo, sexy “Make Me Want To.”

Kane got his start as a YouTube star covering classic country music, but he now has one platinum album—his self-titled debut. He also has three number-one singles—“What ifs,” “Heaven,” and “Lost It”—with another, “Good As You,” destined to be number four. Kane has also started an impressive collection of awards, including three American Music Award nods for “Favorite Country Male Artist,” “Favorite Country Album,” and “Favorite Country Song.”
