The trailer for Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, is out and we have a lot to look forward from the daytime show.
In the trailer, Kelly opens her show with what she does best—singing a song. As the audience jumps to their feet, Kelly welcomes them to her show and shares the kind of show she hopes to create.
“I love talking, it’s no secret. If it is, you’ve never seen me anywhere,” Kelly says in the trailer. “I’d love to see all kinds of guest on the show. All different kinds of walks of life, backgrounds, celebrities, non- celebrities.”
According to the trailer, initial guests include Josh Groban, Terry Crews, Chrissy Metz and Chloe Grace Moritz, who admitted she’s a big fan of Kelly and her music. Who isn’t? The 36-year-old is used to talking with people from her “The Voice” gig, so the talk show shouldn’t be outside her comfort zone.
“I love people, I love connecting with them. I love talking. That’s my favorite part of life.” —Kelly
“I don’t find hosting to be super different from being a coach on ‘The Voice,'” Kelly admits. “It’s talking with people and it’s being comfortable in your skin, which I’m super good at. Almost too good at. I should probably not be as comfortable.”
Speaking of “The Voice, don’t worry, Kelly is not leaving her gig as coach. Why would she, she’s won the show for the last two seasons (her first seasons as coach). Kelly and coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and John Legend will be back for season 16 when it returns Monday, February 25 as the blind auditions air.
As for what viewers can expect from a daytime talk show helmed by Kelly, the mother of two wants it to be authentic.
“What viewers can expect from ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is basically me being authentically me,” Kelly adds. “I love people, I love connecting with them. I love talking. That’s my favorite part of life.”
Kelly appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” back in September to talk about her upcoming Meaning of Life tour with Kelsea Ballerini and her “Voice” champion, Brynn Cartelli. It was then that she revealed that she would be getting her own talk show.
“One reason that I was so excited to have this show y’all is that I’d get the opportunity to shine the light onto organizations and people that get overlooked all the time,” she says in the trailer.
Kelly’s “musically themed” talk show is set to air this Fall on NBC right before “Ellen” and we can’t wait.
