Raised on a farm in East Tennessee, one would think that country music would be their main influence. But Kelsea Ballerini was listening to acts like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera while growing up. It wasn’t until she heard Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy” that she made the move toward country, becoming enamored with acts like Dixie Chicks, Sugarland and Taylor Swift. She wrote her first song at 12 and headed for Music City at the age 15 to pursue a music career. After signing a record deal with Black River Entertainment at the age of 19, Kelsea released her debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It” at age 21. Kelsea began breaking records after her second and third singles, “Dibs” and “Peter Pan” respectively, also reached No. 1, making Kelsea the only female artist in country music to have all three of her singles from her debut album, The First Time, go to No. 1. Soon after releasing her sophomore album Unapologetically, Kelsea married fellow country music singer Morgan Evans on Dec. 2, 2017 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
