Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott welcomed twin girls into the world on January 29, 2018, taking their sweet little family from 3 members to 5. In an exclusive interview with People, Hillary opened up about her pregnancy journey with her twins and the heartache she went through to get there.

Hillary and her husband, Chris Tyrell, already have a 4-year-old daughter together, Eisele, and their two new additions, Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn, have completed their pack– and oddly enough, neither side of their family has a history of twins.

“It was just one of those things. I was like, ‘They’re meant to be here,’” Hillary told People.

Before becoming pregnant with the twins, Hillary suffered a miscarriage. “It took me a while to fully recover after the miscarriage just because it was physically and emotionally [difficult],” she said.

Once she found out she was pregnant with twins, Hillary said she was emotional. “It was emotional, because I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have,’ ” she said. ” ‘It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three.’”

And, for those who were wondering, Hillary confirmed that carrying two babies means double everything. “You [definitely have] double the fatigue. I was sick in the beginning and it was always right around showtime so I had to take anti-nausea medicine that my doctor prescribed me, which thank the Lord for that stuff,” she said.

She told People one of the best perks of having twins is all of the love there is to go around, calling them a “double blessing from the Lord.”

“That first night after they were born [I told Chris], ‘It’s pretty cool we don’t have to share. You can have one, and I can hold one,’” Hillary said. “We can each hold a baby all the time.”

Sounds like heaven to me!
