In April, Maddie & Tae did the unconventional—they released the EP, One Heart to Another, which is the first part of a full-length album. Now, the talented duo is letting fans have the second part of the three-part album with the new EP, Everywhere I’m Goin’.
Entirely co-written by the duo’s Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye, the six-song EP showcases the pair as more mature young women embarking on the next chapter of their respective lives. Produced by Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells, the collection utilizes traditional instrumentation and arrangements with a contemporary flair that cradles Maddie & Tae’s uniquely identifiable harmonies without overpowering them.
Tracks on the project include the stirring, heartbreak duet with Dierks Bentley, “Lay Here With Me,” which teems with emotion and angst, while “Bathroom Floor” acts as the empowered response to their current single, “Die of a Broken Heart.” Light-hearted, sweet and somewhat autobiographical “Trying On Rings,” is delightfully overflowing with seamless harmonies. The title track, “Everywhere I’m Goin’,” is a joyful declaration of love and life, while “Ain’t There Yet,” the most contemporary cut on the project, is an uptempo ode to mourning the end of a relationship, while knowing that a fresh start is on the horizon.
Everywhere I’m Goin’ is an incredibly enjoyable and logical step in the evolution of Maddie and Tae, who signed their first record deal at the tender age of 19. Currently the support act for Carrie Underwood on her Cry Pretty Tour 360, Maddie & Tae recently made their debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Both young women are now engaged with Maddie up first to tie the knot next month.
