It’s really only been a few weeks since Taylor Swift stood outside a custom mural in Nashville that contained hints about her new music. She then spoke to Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts where she talked about the new single, “Me!” Savvy fans knew that could quite possibly mean that an album was following and now, in what seems like an eternity in SwiftyVille, details have been released about a full album.

More posts followed, even one about…posts.
And another revealing the title of the new song, “You Need to Calm Down,” released at midnight on Friday, June 14.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Taylor also said, ““It’s very romantic and not just simply thematically, like it’s all love songs or something. I think that romance can be found in loneliness or sadness or going through conflicts in your life. [The album] just looks at things in a romantic gaze.”
In the new song, Taylor sings about people calming down when it comes to talking about people you hate. Taylor hits on topics like Gay pride, women and even herself.
“Oh You need to calm down / You’re being too loud / And I’m just like / Oh You need to just stop / Like, can you just not / stop step on my gown? / You need to calm down,” she sings in the chorus.
The country-turned-pop star also mentioned a collaboration with fashion designer Stella McCartney, but no other details were provided.
This is Taylor’s first album since 2017’s Reputation and is her biggest collection of music so far, with 18-tracks. There will also be four deluxe versions of the album with bonus audio, all available at Target or on the superstar’s website.
Until August 23 arrives, fans have “Me!” and “You Need to Calm Down” until the albums is here. Enjoy!
