Leave it to the mega-hit songwriter to craft a Christmas lyric so full of picturesque visuals that even those who have never visited a Christmas tree lot can feel the excitement of that yearly tradition. It makes so much sense, though. If you are a longtime Taylor fan, you know that she actually grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, so she didn’t have to reach far to find footage to create one of the sweetest and most magical music videos this holiday season.

The video thoughtfully begins with grown-up Taylor in black-and-white, peering out the window as the tree-lined landscape races by. As the intro of the song fades, we are taken from the present day to Taylor’s actual childhood. The preciousness of toddler Taylor is almost too much for a holiday heart to bear as viewers are welcomed into the family home for stockings, sledding, snowflakes and Eskimo kisses. But the spotlight isn’t just on the singer. Brother Austin, Mom Andrea and Dad Scott also star in the family-focused feature.

If you’re listening closely, you’ll notice that Taylor also brings the past and present together so cleverly. While the song recalls those memorable moments of her tinsel-tinged childhood singing, “in my heart there’s a Christmas tree farm,” it also welcomes the present, inviting love to be a part of those heartfelt memories, too.
