The son of singer/songwriter Rhett Akins, Thomas Rhett was born into the country music family. Although he began his career as a songwriter, transforming himself into a pop-country superstar, it wasn’t until college that Rhett decided he wanted to pursue music. After dropping out at the age of 20, Rhett received his first publishing deal that lead him to write songs like “Parking Lot Party” for Lee Brice, “1994” for Jason Aldean and “Round Here” for Florida Georgia Line. TR went on to release his debut single, “Something to Do With My Hands” in 2012. After two moderately successful releases, he hit the top of the charts with “It Goes Like This,” which lead to a string of No.1 hits, including “Get Me Some of That” and “Make Me Wanna.” The Georgia native hasn’t looked back, releasing two more studio albums including Tangled, which contained his biggest hit to date, “Die A Happy Man,” and 2017’s Life Changes. TR married his wife Lauren Akins, whom he’s known since first grade, in 2012. They went on to adopt their daughter Willa Gray in May 2017, then welcomed daughters Ada James in August 2017 and Lennon Love in 2020.
