On an emotional night for Little Big Town, as they mourned the loss of Jimi Westbrook’s sister, Adam Lambert and Leona Lewis paid tribute to the foursome with an incredible performance of “Girl Crush” during the CMT Artists of the Year show.
“Girl Crush” was the CMA Single and Song of the Year and is an early contender for any and all GRAMMY Awards. Little Big Town was also the winner of ACM and CMA Vocal Group of the Year and were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
Very few artists could sing the song the way Karen Fairchild and the rest of LBT do, but Lambert and Lewis showed their abilities and even added a tiny bit of pop flair towards the end of the song.
Earlier in the day, before the show, Jimi tweeted about the loss of his sister and during the group’s acceptance speech, Kimberly Schlapman paid tribute to Joyce as well.
