In 1985 Alan Jackson’s white cowboy hat and blonde curls had yet to take over the country music world. So much so, the host on “You Can Be a Star” called the future mega-star, “Al,” right before he performed “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” by George Jones.

Of course, Jackson went on to be one of the most successful country music stars of all-time selling over 80 million records worldwide and even performing the Jones classic at a memorial service for the country legend in 2013.
