When Bebe Rexha teamed with country duo, Florida Georgia Line, she had no idea of the mega-hit the trio would create when they sat down to write, “Meant To Be.”
The song has broken records by staying on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 24 weeks, making it the longest-leading No. 1 in the chart’s history for a song by a lead female. It also tied FGL’s other hit, “Cruise,” as the second longest No. 1 on Hot Country Songs chart behind Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Backroad,” which lasted 34 weeks at No. 1.
In the midst of all the excitement, Bebe stopped by “Good Morning America” Friday morning, to promote the releases of her new album Expectations, which dropped the same day.
While on stage in New York’s Central Park, the pop singer performed her country-pop collaboration “Meant to Be,” along with “I’m a Mess” from her new album.
In addition to the performances, Bebe was surprised by GMA co-host Michael Strahan when he awarded her with two Radio Disney Music Awards ahead of tonight’s ceremony, including Freshest Best New Artist and Best Collaboration with FGL for “Meant To Be.”
Bebe could not hide her happiness, breaking down in tears after receiving the awards. “This is my first award that I got like this, this is cool,” Bebe said. Congratulations!
