As we near the end of 2016, it’s only fitting that One Country shares a few of those classic, end of the year lists. Like you, we are kind of bored with the typical end of the year lists, so we’re putting our own spin on a few!
11 Most Fashionable Country Music Moments of 2016:
1. Karen Fairchild’s Plastic Pants and White Jumpsuit
Fairchild is, without a doubt, the most fashion-forward lady in country music. However, it’s her low-key, casual moments that stick out to us the most. Like the time she showed up for a special announcement at the Ryman in plastic pants. And the time she rocked an all-white jumpsuit with white patent leather booties like only Elvis could.
2. Miranda Lambert’s Pink Holster
Lambert was packing heat on the ACM red carpet this year and she did it in style with a bright pink holster on her bright pink high heel.
3. Kacey Musgraves’ “Three Amigos” Look
Musgraves can pull off any look out there, but her look for an appearance the “Late Late Show” was one of her best ever. Plus, she kind of looked like she could’ve been in “Three Amigos” with Steve Martin.
4. Kelsea Ballerini’s “Peter Pan” Video
Ballerini’s “Peter Pan” video had some great cinematography, but it was hard to see past Ballerini’s killer looks.
5. Carrie Underwood‘s Backwards Suspenders
Remember the scene in “Mean Girls” where the girl says, “One time I saw Cady Heron wearing army pants and flip flops. So I bought army pants and flip flops?” That’s all we can think of when we watch Underwood’s “Dirty Laundry” video. We don’t understand the backwards suspenders, but we don’t have to.
6. Sam Hunt’s Pink Suit
Only Hunt could pull this off. And boy did he.
7. Eric Church Not in Leather
If you can get Church out of his staple jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket– kudos. And please do it more. Church looked so good during the CMA Awards.
8. Katy Perry’s Outfit for the ACM Awards
Don’t try this at home, folks.
9. Morgane Stapleton’s Gold Pants
Rest assured, if Chris Stapleton is on stage, we are going to be looking for his other-half, Morgane. Especially when she rocks pants like this.
10. Jake Owen’s Plunging Neckline
To each his own.
11. Tim McGraw’s Tux
If anybody else in country music looks this good in a tux– no.
Honorable mention: That time Carrie Underwood wore a cape just to take it off.
