Blake Shelton fans are getting an early Christmas present from their favorite country star, and it isn’t just his new album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country dropping on December 13. The country star and coach on NBC’s The Voice has announced that he’s collaborating with fellow The Voice coach…and girlfriend, Gwen Stefani for the song, “Nobody But You,” on the project.
Written by bona fide hitmakers Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne, Tommy Lee James and Shane McAnally (from Songland), the song is said to reflect on “a life bettered by a loving relationship.”
“This was one of those songs where the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it,” Blake said. “I also realized how important it is for me and where I am in my life, and I think that’s why Shane was trying to get it to me. It fits my story.” He adds, “I was about to go in and record when I decided that it needed Gwen on it because it is our song. I think it’s magic.”
This isn’t the couple’s first collaboration. On his 2016 album, If I’m Honest, the couple swapped vocals on “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” and on Gwen’s holiday album, You Make it Feel Like Christmas the pair gifted fans with a delightful duet on the title track.
Fully Loaded: God’s Country is a mix of five new songs, including the award-winning chart- topper “God’s Country” and the rising boot-stomping “Hell Right,” and seven fan-favorite hits from recent years like “A Guy with a Girl” and “I’ll Name the Dogs.”
After Blake and Gwen wrap the 17th season of The Voice, they’ll take a short break, then Blake hits the road for his Friends and Heroes 2020 dates with special guests Lauren Alaina, the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins.
