If you didn’t grow up in the near vicinity of Oklahoma, there’s a good chance you know very little about it.
Vicki Gunvalson, from “Real Housewives of Orange County,” once described Oklahoma as, “Oklahoma is an invisible state. No one ever talks about Oklahoma. I think it’s a forgotten state. We’ve never been to Oklahoma. I don’t know anybody in Oklahoma. I don’t even know what kind of food they eat in Oklahoma.”
Vicki is pretty off in her comments because right now, today, you can find Oklahoma’s finest like Blake Shelton or Ree Drummond on your TV at any given moment. Plus, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Ryan Tedder, Sonic and Hobby Lobby all got their start in Oklahoma. And do I even need to mention to that the shopping cart was invented in Oklahoma?
All of this to say, Oklahoma has some hidden gems amongst its flock. So hidden in fact that, Blake Shelton was actually named an Oklahoma Creativity Ambassador in 2017 and they just released the video for it.
What is a creativity ambassador? Oh just people from Oklahoma who are, “exemplars of creativity and innovation representing the State of Oklahoma to help further Creative Oklahoma’s mission to develop, promote and celebrate Oklahoma’s creativity and innovation in education, commerce and culture.”
Blake didn’t talk much about creativity in his acceptance speech, but he did say that you need to work hard at whatever you do.Which, isn’t that creative of a thing to say.
