He’s admittedly rough around the edges, and the crowd he runs with might be a bit rowdier than the rest, but when it comes to his children, Brantley Gilbert is a pile of mush. And we’re getting a glimpse of that in a new video he released for his song, “Man That Hung the Moon.”

While plenty of footage is utilized of the singer-songwriter on stage in front of massive crowds or hanging with his band prior to hitting the stage, quieter moments between Brantley, wife Amber, and baby boy Barrett provide a striking contrast to the two roles that the singer-songwriter plays. At one point, Brantley is seen scrolling through his phone to presumably, show off pictures of his boy, and at another, he is seen walking away from his family to take the stage, but turning around for one more hug.

Brantley wrote “Man That Hung the Moon” for Barrett and his future daughter, and in a post on his Instagram page, he explains, “Having Amber and Barrett in the studio with me when we were cutting this song was real special…. and I’m so glad we had the cameras in there to capture it for the video…. Y’all know I’m still no superhero but for my son and future daughter to have this song from their daddy means so much to me…. Thank y’all for lovin it too…. “

Listen closely to the end of the song. You’ll hear Brantley’s message to his children: “No matter what, no matter where I am, just know I love you with all I am. Me and your mama, both.”
