Brennley Brown Doesn’t Impress with Sara Evans’ “Suds In The Bucket” on “The Voice”

“Suds In The Bucket” was not the song for Brennley Brown‘s semi-finals performance on “The Voice.”

For the first time all competition she looked and sounded her age and more than anything, she looked like she was going to hurt that guitar. I’m not sure this was entirely her fault. During rehearsals coach Gwen Stefani gave her some nonsense about, “if I sang ‘Hollaback’ every song for every show it’d get boring.'” Well, yeah, it would, but– you have to sing it, Gwen.

The real issues came when Brennley tried to get soulful for small pockets of time throughout the tune. I’m not sure this was the country song to win non-country fans over.
