Brennley Brown is so young that “The Voice” has been on TV most of her life. While most of us grew up while watching Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood on “American Idol,” Brown has been longing for Starbucks-infused red chairs to turn for her on a Monday or Tuesday night.
Brown hails from California and is a youngster, but she says she grew up on Willie Nelson, the Highwaymen and Faith Hill.
When the chairs turned, Alicia Keys was interested, but Blake Shelton was ready to fight. Not only did Shelton know Brown was singing a Keith Urban tune, but he knew that Sarah Buxton wrote it. (Buxton also wrote Florida Georgia Line’s “Sun Daze” and several songs for “Nashville.”)
Though Keys reminded Brown that she recently played the ACM Honors with Cam and two performances with Maren Morris, she went with the country music superstar and #TeamBlake.
