Brett Eldredge spent some time in New York City this week as part of his Glow Live Tour. In the midst of his five-date tour, he visited TODAY where he performed two tracks off his new deluxe holiday album.

Brett is set to close his tour this weekend with two sold-out performances in Nashville and then he’ll head back to Illinois for the holidays for some quality family time.

“I go back to the midwest, back home,” he tells co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb ahead of his performance. “My aunt’s house is full of 30 people at one time. I go back home and see family and do the same thing I’ve done my entire life.”

While his childhood often included singing around the holidays, he admits that these days he prefers to catch up with his family instead.

“I would always sing every year. I would sing ‘O Holy Night’ in the choir loft,” he recalls. “They still give me a lot of grief over the fact that now I just want to sit with the family.”

Brett performed the album’s title track, “Glow,” which he wrote. Adding that “it’s a real special one,” he sang the festive tune with his signature booming vocals. A lively performance that would no doubt make Frank Sinatra proud, Brett looked dapper in a suit and bow-tie ensemble while backed by a brass section, piano and upright bass player that helped bring the song to life.

Brett also performed the holiday standard, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” which you can watch below.
