Brett Young is not slowing down as 2018 comes to a close. The “In Case You Didn’t Know” singer is stepping up his game with the release of his latest single, “Catch.”
“Catch” is Brett’s sixth single, four of which have gone No. 1, and the second from his upcoming album, Ticket To L.A.,” due out Dec. 7. The reigning ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year made a name for himself in country music with several heartbreaking ballads, including “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Like I Loved You,” and “Mercy.”
“‘Catch’ is about that person who comes along when you least expect it and completely changes all your plans,” Brett said. “I think most of us have felt that way at some point – being so captivated by someone that nothing else seems to matter, so I hope fans can really connect with this one.”
“I was doing my own thing / yeah up until you sat down / I thought that I’d catch a buzz / catch a game / catch up with the boys the same old thing / catch a cab back to my place / but then I saw your face / Now you got me tryin’ to catch your eye / catch your name / catch a spark and start a flame / the way ya smilin’ I can’t help myself / girl you got me trying to catch my breath / you got me trying to catch my breath,” Brett sings in the chorus.
Brett’s “Catch” is his new wife Taylor Mills, who he recently wed on Nov. 3 at Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert, California. The couple hosted about 200 family and friends at the private ceremony where country singers Luke Combs and Lee Brice performed.
As the blue-eyed singer wraps his CMT On Tour: Here Tonight with Tyler Rich and Rachel Wammack this year, Brett will next hit the road with Kelsea Ballerini as part of her Miss Me More Tour in 2019.
