American Idol finalist, Cade Foehner, released his second single, “Crown,” back in November and now, the 22-year-old is sharing an exclusive unplugged video of the song with One Country readers.

Forgoing the multi-instrument, synthesizer sound, Cade stripped down the uptempo tune. As crickets chirp in the beginning of the video, the rocker and his band set up in a relaxed, outdoor setting to perform the uptempo tune.

“With this video I wanted to take people into one of the spots I love most. We set this video in the woods where I used to run around as a kid,” Cade tells One Country.  “It seemed only natural to show people a little about where I’ve come from while trying express this idea of no matter where you grew up you’re fighting for a goal, you are running to get the crown of life.”

Cade’s gritty vocals are at the forefront as sings about going after what he wants.

“Whoa, Whoa / Ain’t nothing gonna hold me down / I keep runnin,’ ain’t stoppin’ / cause one day I’m gonna get my crown / My crown / whoa whoa,” he sings in the chorus.

The Texas native landed in the Top 5 of American Idol‘s season 16, before being voted off. He finished behind, girlfriend Gabby Barrett, Caleb Hutchison and winner Maddie Poppe. Over the summer, he toured with “AI” contestants in the American Idol Live Tour and joined Gabby on Chris Lane’s Laps Around the Sun Tour.
