When the ACM Award nominations were announced Thursday morning, first time nominees saw their dreams come true. After 9 long years of blood, sweat and tears, Carly Pearce is one of those nominees that are now reaping the reward with her first-ever nomination.

The Kentucky native received the nod in the New Female Vocalist of the Year category. She finds herself up against Lauren Alaina, RaeLynn and Danielle Bradbery, who is also a first time nominee.

“I have dreamt of being nominated for an ACM Award my entire life,” shared the “Every Little Thing” singer.  “All the years I watched the show from my couch, wondering if I’d ever make it to the awards as a nominee are now coming true. I LOVE YOU COUNTRY MUSIC!!”

In the surreal moment, Carly found out about her nomination in an airport, traveling to her next gig. The flight attendant called out the nomination over the loud speaker and the plane erupted in applause.

Carly has scored a few firsts this past year, including reaching the top of the chart with her debut single, “Every Little Thing.” She was also chosen as one of the promising new artists to be a part of the New Faces show held during Nashville’s Country Radio Seminar.

“My entire life I wanted to sing country music and move to Nashville and pursue this,” Carly told One Country.

After taking to Instagram to share her reaction, Carly wrote, “Yes. I really screamed that loud. [wait for the end].”  You might want to cover your ears.

The 27-year-old singer is currently on the road as part of Blake Shelton’s Country Music Freaks tour. Following that, Carly will jump on tour with Thomas Rhett for some dates on his Life Changes Tour, kicking off in April.

Congratulations on the nomination.
