After eight months of marriage Carly Pearce and Michael Ray are going their separate ways.
According to People, the “Every Little Thing” singer-songwriter filed for divorce from Ray on Friday, via confirmation from their reps.
“This was a hard decision. It wasn’t something she wanted to have to do,” a source told the outlet. “This hasn’t been a quarantine realization — it was a last resort.”
Carly and Michael last appeared together during quarantine on June 6, when they performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage, sans an audience.
The couple tied the knot in October 2019 an intimate ceremony at Drakewood Farms in Nashville, TN., 40 acres of rolling farmland, 1850 antebellum mansion with two bridal dressing rooms, three barns, a stunning 4,000 sq. ft pavilion and grooms cottage.
“No matter what, I have her in my corner,” Micahel said at the time of their wedding. “No matter what, she has me in her corner. I tell her, you’re never going to face anything alone. Never will there be anything in life that you don’t look over and I’m standing beside you.”
Michael and Carly announced their engagement in December 2018 while on vacation in Tulum. Michael proposed to Carly at the intimate location and shared it with fans.
Carly took to her Instagram with the news alongside a series of photos from their engagement, saying, “Earlier this week, the man of my dreams got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. All in one simple “yes”, I said “yes” to love, “yes” to peace, “yes” to faithfulness, “yes” to respect, “yes” to kindness, “yes” to trust, “yes” to patience and “yes” to never settling.”
Michael wrote, “Dec 19, 2018, My life forever changed for the better. I got down on one knee in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and looked into the eyes of the most beautiful soul I have ever known and asked her to be my wife!”
Our best wishes go out to the couple as they go their separate ways.
