Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Carrie Underwood can tell you that she is one of the kindest, warmest, and most gracious artists in country music. Just how kind, warm and gracious she is was elevated during this year’s CMA Music Festival.
In one of the many rooms backstage at the festival, students from the Andrew Jackson Elementary School Eagle Choir thought they were simply taking part in a rehearsal of “The Champion” for an appearance on the final night. Little did they know that lurking in the shadows was Carrie Underwood.
Carrie shared a precious video clip of her surprise visit on her socials. “This makes my heart so happy,” she writes. “I am so proud of the Andrew Jackson Elementary School Eagle Choir! You are all champions!!”
Indeed they are! As Carrie emerged from behind a curtain, the kiddos squealed with delight, rushing to hug the superstar. They then ran through their performance with Carrie urging them on. One of the teary-eyed young singers even said, “I never thought it would be Carrie Underwood caring about us. It was really special.” Another credit the star with being an inspiration to her.
