Carrie Underwood Will Have a Date to the CMA Awards This Year Because Mike Fisher is Unemployed (According to Brad Paisley)

Carrie Underwood is coming into her 10th year to host the CMA Awards and for the first time in awhile, her husband Mike Fisher will get to be her arm candy on the red carpet. This is Mike’s first year out of retirement after spending 17 years in the NHL. Typically, almost every awards show Carrie attends falls during hockey season, save the CMT Awards.

During an interview with Ginger Zee on “Good Morning America,” Carrie gleefully shared, “I’ll actually have a date this year! My husband’s coming.”

To which Brad Paisley perfectly replied, “that’s right! He’s unemployed.”

Our quick recollection reminds us that 2012 was the last CMA Awards red carpet Mike was able to walk.
