“And I’m Carrie Underwood,” his wife adds.

“To help the health of our community, we’re asking everyone to stay at home as much as possible and practice social distancing,” Mike continues.

“Working together, we can stop the spread of COVID-19,” Carrie shares.

Then the couple continues in unison, “Do your part, stay apart.”

Carrie and Mike have been doing their part to distance themselves from others. There are over 982,000 cases of coronavirus around the globe with over 50,000 deaths and over 200,000 recoveries to date. The U.S. has seen over 214,000 cases with 4,841 deaths.

WHO (World Health Organization) has shared guidelines of the virus for the public to follow:

1. Wash your hands frequently

2. Maintain social distancing:

Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth

4. Practice respiratory hygiene

Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

5. If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

6. Stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider

Good luck out there!
