With all of us stuck in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic, Clay Walker believes it’s more important than ever to connect with others through music. So, the multi-platinum singer is doing just that by connecting with us through his new single, “Easy Goin,” featured on his upcoming album, due out later this year.
Written by Clay, Adam Wheeler and Paul Sikes, the single is a catchy, laid-back summer tune, reminiscent of Clays previous hits, that tells the tale of the ending of a relationship that was just to easy to leave.
“It was too easy goin / She didn’t think twice / Yeah her taillights / They showed no signs of slowin / No trail of tears / She’s makin it clear to me / There’s no catchin her car / No catching her heart / She’s gone and she ain’t comin back / Cause it was too easy goin,” he sings in the chorus.
Clay sat down with One Country’s Kelly Sutton to talk about coping with quarantine, as we all are, and his new single, “Easy Goin.”
“I told my manager, ‘I want you to listen to this song’ and I didn’t say anything else to him, I just said ‘Hey, I want you to hear this song.’ He sent me an email back and said, ‘Is it just me or does this sound like a big ole smash. I said, ‘I think you’re right,” Clay shared. “I feel like my voice has matured and gotten richer and I want to sing as much as possible because that doesn’t last for ever. And at the same time, I feel like I actually have something to say and can say it better.”
