Following the major success of CMA’s participation in U.K.’s largest country music festival, C2C, Country to Country, the Country Music Association has decided to announce the 2016 recipients of the organization’s International Awards.
“Advancing Country Music around the world is central to CMA’s mission and we are delighted to acknowledge the exhaustive efforts of our international and domestic colleagues and their dedication to developing new territories and fans for Country Music beyond our U.S. borders,” Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer, said in a press release.
At the event, where country music sensation Kacey Musgraves was presented with with the International Artist Achievement Award, country music artists from all areas of the U.S., U.K. and Europe were honored.
Repost from @spaceykacey! ?? ・・・ Last night I was given the CMA International Artist Award for our sold out tours outside of America. It was such a surprise! This one means a lot to my team and I because we love the chance to play my songs in places far away from home, experience new things and cultures, and connect with the WONDERFUL fans all over that have been so supportive. It’s because of YOU! THANK YOU! I always have and always will make it a priority to keep coming back and pushing to come to new places. ? [I constantly bug my booking agent to book us in new countries!]

Reba was also featured in a video where she announced all the winners, congratulated them and sent her love.
“Access to Country Music has never been easier or more prevalent,” Trahern said. “Utilizing email and social media to have one of our format superstars notify the winners of our international honors brings it all home.”
