Luke Bryan Debuts No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Music Album Chart
He’s at it again! The reigning 2013 ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan is proving himself worthy of his 2014 ACM Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Entertainer of the Year nominations with the the No. 1 debut of his digital EP, Spring Break 6… Like We Ain’t Ever, on Billboard’s Country Albums chart with 74,296 copies sold.
In addition to topping the Country Albums chart, Bryan landed at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart with the sixth installment of his Spring Break series. Combined, Luke’s six Spring Break releases have sold over 825,000 copies and last year’s Spring Break…Here To Party was the first and only retail release of the Spring Break releases. Spring Break 6… Like We Ain’t Ever contains six original songs, all co-written by Luke.Carrie Underwood Earns ACM Special Achievement Award.

Carrie Underwood Earns ACM Special Achievement Award
Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith and Ronnie Milsap are among the country artists recognized with special off-camera ACM Awards for their remarkable achievements. The awards will be presented at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Sept. 9.
Underwood has been chosen for the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. In 2013, she gained widespread exposure through NFL Sunday Night Football and the live NBC broadcast of The Sound of Music. Her Blown Away tour traveled to London’s Royal Albert Hall, followed by extensive dates across the U.S. and Canada. Upon completing the tour, she donated $1 million to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. She continues to support her hometown of Checotah, Okla., through her C.A.T.S. Foundation.
Florida Georgia Line Helps Fight Hunger Nationwide
General Mills today announced the launch of its third annual Outnumber Hunger campaign, which has provided more than 25 million meals to Americans in need as part of a partnership with Feeding America and Big Machine Label Group. The Outnumber Hunger campaign officially kicks off today with Country sensation Florida Georgia Line as the face of the 2014 campaign.
Outnumber Hunger’s 2014 campaign is marked with a special live concert on Friday, April 4, at The LINQ in Las Vegas, featuring reigning ACM New Artist of the Year Florida Georgia Line, Superstar group Rascal Flatts, ACM New Artist nominee Justin Moore and hot newcomers Thomas Rhett, The Cadillac Three, Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery. Outnumber Hunger Live! is part of the ACM Party for a Cause Festival, a two-day festival leading up to the 49th Annual ACM Awards on April 6.
They also released a new video this week for “This is How We Roll.”
Cassadee Pope Goes Platinum on Debut Single
Following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift is a great way to start one’s career and Cassadee Pope is doing just that. With her debut single “Wasting All These Tears” going certified platinum for surpassing 1 million downloads, Cassadee Pope has solidified her standing in an elite group of only three other women to achieve the milestone. Not since Taylor Swift in 2006 has a solo female country artist gone platinum on their debut single. You can read the entire story on Country Outfitter Style.
CMA Fest Line-up Announced
It’s going to be another banner year for the CMA Music Fest as Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Miranda Lambert are among the 20 stars confirmed for the nightly stadium concerts at LP Field, being held June 5-8 in downtown Nashville. Unfortunately, tickets sold out almost immediately, but later in the fall you can catch the the nightly stadium concerts on an ABC special called CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.
