Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, Craig Campbell sat down a keyboard and performance a pretty stellar cover of Miranda Lambert’s “House That Built Me” for his Woman Cover Wednesday series.

Originally, the song was supposed to be recorded by Blake Shelton, but once Lambert heard it she wanted it for herself. To date, it’s the fastest-rising single of Lambert’s career and ended up being her first No. 1 single in 2010. She won the GRAMMY for Best Country Vocal Performance at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards for the song.

Campbell’s version is compelling and almost offers a totally different perspective simply because of his vocals.

It also helps he positioned himself in front of a wall of female portraits.
