It may have rained in New York on New Year’s Eve, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of country duo Dan + Shay and the crowd that filled the street in Times Square. The duo took the stage for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve to perform their No. 1 hit “Tequila.”
As the guys introduced themselves to the crowd and at-home viewing audience, the rain continued to fall. “To everybody here in Times Square and everybody watching at home, we’re Dan+Shay and this song is called “Tequila,” Shay said from the stage. That’s when the guys let it flow and took over the tourist spot for 3 minutes.

The duo, one sporting a denim jacket and the other a bomber jacket, didn’t miss a beat as confetti, streamers and smoke filled the sky during their performance.
Dan + Shay took to Instagram to share the milestone moment with a few pictures and a few words.
“still processing this moment. and still waiting for our clothes to dry. ☔️,” they wrote. In another post with their wives, Abby and Hannah, the guys predicted that 2019 was going to be a good year.

We can only hope. But if we get more music from Dan + Shay in 2019, we can say it’s a pretty safe bet.
