Dolly Parton’s Highly-Anticipated Heartstrings Series Set to Premiere in November

Dolly Parton has announced the date for long-awaited premiere of her eight-episode Netflix series, Heartstrings.

Starting November 22, the eight films, based on the stories that Dolly tells in songs like “Jolene,” “Two Doors Down” “If I Had Wings” and “Cracker Jack” will begin their roll-out on the subscription-based network.

In addition to Dolly’s appearance in each of the movies, which were filmed in Georgia, the following is a preliminary list of some of the stars who will appear in each movie:

1. Jolene: Julianne Hough (Footloose), Kimberly Williams Paisley (Father of the Bride) and Dallas Roberts (The Walking Dead)

2. These Old Bones: Kathleen Turner (Romancing the Stone), Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time) and Kyle Bornheimer (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

3. If I Had Wings: Gerald McRaney (This is Us), Brooke Elliott (Drop Dead Diva), Ben Lawson (No Strings Attached), Michele Weaver (Love Is), Delta Burke (Designing Women) and Tim Reid (WKRP in Cincinnati)

4. JJ Sneed: Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon a Time), Willa Fitzgerald (Scream), David Denman (Outcast), and country singer songwriter Mac Davis

5. Two Doors Down: Melissa Leo (Olympus Has Fallen), Ray McKinnon (Mayans M.C.) Andy Mientus (The Flash), Katie Stevens (The Bold Type), and Michael Willett (United States of Tara)

6. Down from Dover: Holly Taylor (The Americans), Shane McGhie (What Men Want), Robert Taylor (The Matrix), Bellamy Young (Scandal), Camryn Manheim (The Practice), and Mary Lane Haskell (Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors)

7. Sugar Hill: Patricia Wettig and Timothy Busfield (both of Thirtysomething), Virginia Gardner (Halloween) and Tom Brittney (Outlander)
