As Dolly Parton released her children’s album, I Believe in You,” earlier this month, we learned of the special relationships she shares with children.
In a recent “TODAY” show interview, Dolly discussed her decision to not have children saying, “God has a plan for everything, but I’ve said, ‘I think it was His plan for me not to have kids so everybody’s kids could be mine. And they are now.”
Dolly got the opportunity to meet one of her kids and namesakes, when Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman introduced the 71-year-old singer to her daughter, also named Dolly, backstage at the Kenny Rogers farewell concert celebration in Nashville.
Little Dolly was ready for her close up, dressed to the nines in an ensemble that matched the icon’s look perfectly.
Not to let this moment get away, Kimberly took to Instagram to share a photo of the precious duo. “Dolly meets Dolly!!! @dollyparton thank you for lovin’ on my Dolly,” she wrote in the post.
Kimberly and her husband Stephen announced the adoption of Dolly in Jan. 2017, joining big sister Daisy.
There’s not a child that Dolly has meant that she doesn’t get along with. “I am a kid,” she told One Country. “They love me and I love them and we just fit together like magnets.”
