Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert Join Voices on “Dumb Blonde” For Feature Film “Dumplin'” [Listen]


Dolly Parton has a who’s who of collaborators on the soundtrack for the upcoming feature film “Dumplin,” starring Jennifer Aniston. One of these collaborators is none other than country star Miranda Lambert.

Dolly and Miranda put their voices together to harmonize on an updated recording of Dolly’s 1967 song “Dumb Blonde.” The two blondes get together to sing about being blonde but not dumb. “Just because I’m blonde don’t think I’m dumb, ‘Cause this dumb blonde ain’t nobody’s fool.” Dolly and Miranda prove in this song that blondes really do have more fun.

Don’t try to cry your way out of this / Don’t try to lie or I’ll catch you in it / Don’t try to make me feel sorry for you / Just because I’m blonde / Don’t think I’m dumb / ‘Cause this dumb blonde ain’t nobody’s fool,” they sing in the chorus.

Dolly Parton has been tapped to help with scoring the soundtrack for Jennifer Aniston’s new Netflix movie, “Dumplin.’” “Dumplin,'” about a teenager who is obsessed with Dolly Parton, will hit theaters Dec. 7.

The film’s soundtrack features by Elle King, Mavis Staples, Miranda Lambert, Willa Amai, Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss, Macy Gray, and DOROTHY, as well as cameos by “Dumplin’” stars Danielle Macdonald and Jennifer Aniston.

In addition, Dolly has previously revealed two songs also featured on the soundtrack, “Here I Am,” Dolly’s collaboration with Sia, and the heartwarming ballad “Girl In the Movies.”
