Congratulations are in order for Eric Paslay and his wife Natalie. The couple welcomed their first child, Piper Lily Paslay, on Dec. 8, according to People.

The magazine reports that Piper was born at 9:37 a.m., measuring 19 inches long and weighing in at 7 lbs., 2 oz.

Wanting to get to know their little girl, and Natalie took three days to name her, giving themselves time to get to know her.

“After getting many smiles and much laughter from all her cute little sounds and squeaks, Piper suddenly fell into place and seemed right for her,” the couple shared. “Her middle name came a little easier. Lily is a derivative of Elizabeth, who was Mary’s cousin and the mother of John the Baptist. It also happens to be Natalie’s favorite flower!”

The “Young Forever” singer and his wife married in April 2015 after dating for two years. They took to social media in July to announce their impending arrival. Eric posted a photo of he and his wife kissing, while holding a guitar with an open guitar case. A sign in the forefront of the image reads “Need Diaper $.”

Congratulations to the happy couple.
