The Top 10 contestants have been chosen on “American Idol” and there’s only one country queen in the competition and her name is Gabby Barrett.
Gabby endured herself to fans early during auditions by insisting that she sing country when the judges urged her do differently she chose a Gospel tune. To say Gabby is 17-years-old and not prepared for this competition would be the understatement of the last 12 years.
After nailing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” and a couple of other ballads on the way to the Top 10, Gabby took a different route for her first official performance for America– Miranda Lambert’s least enduring single of all-time, “Little Red Wagon.”
Gabby worked the stage like we haven’t seen from a contestant yet and though she wasn’t supposed to get judges’ commentary afterward, Katy Perry did interrupt and say, “I want to know one thing, what did you eat for dinner, because that was so wild!”
Katy was right and it’s likely no one cared that her vocals weren’t at their best while boppin’ around.
