Gabby Barrett, former contestant on “American Idol,” was invited to perform for the President of the United States at the National Christmas Tree Lighting. The 96th National Christmas Tree Lighting was held on November 28th on the Ellipse in President’s Park.

Prior to her performance, Gabby teased the event on Instagram saying, “I will be performing “The First Noel” for the President in Washington D.C., on Wednesday. Tune in y’all.”

The Christmas tree lighting aired on Dec. 2 and included performances by Dominican Sisters of Mary, Abby Anderson, LoCash, Mathew West, “The Voice” contestant Spensha Baker, Thompson Square, Paul Cardell, John Driskell Hopkins and the U.S. Army Band.

President Trump nad first lady Melania were on hand to flip the switch that lights the tree. The President passed the honor on to his wife and allowed her to do the honors.

“Let’s light the tree, he said. “The first lady will do the honors”

Gabby, bundled up in a white coat and gloves with red boots, belted out “The First Noel” as the giant lit tree stood behind her and the President and First Lady looked on.

“It’s Was Really Really Cold But The Love And Warmth I Felt Made Me Feel Even More HONORED, And BLESSED!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!,” Gabby wrote on her Youtube Channel.

Merry Christmas, Gabby!
