Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have a love that one dreams about. Wednesday night (Nov. 14) during the CMA Awards, Garth put that love on display by performing a song he wrote for his wife of 13 years.

While he couldn’t say much about the song prior the show, Garth revealed to Kelly Sutton on the red carpet, that his performance on the show would be the first time Trisha would be hearing the song.

“I can’t say anything other than this is the first, she’s never heard it,” Garth revealed. “I made it all the way to here without her hearing it, so I’m almost there.

I’m like, ‘why am I so nervous,’  and I realize it’s because I don’t really like surprised and I have no idea what he’s gonna sing,” Trisha added.

What Garth sang was a song he dedicated to Trisha called “Stronger Than Me,” pertaining to their love.

She lifts the weight of this old world off of my shoulder/ with nothing but the touch of her hand / when I wake up and I tell her that I love her / I feel more like a man / I’d give her anything in life that’s mine to give her / til the last breath that I breathe If I had a choice / .I pray God takes me first because your stronger than me,” Garth sings with full emotion.

At the end of the song both Garth and Trisha had tears in their eyes. With the camera trained on Trisha, she couldn’t hide her emotion as she heard the song for the first time.

But the Mrs. later gave her seal of approval by posting her words to Instagram. “#StrongerThanMe is everything and I am stronger with you! Love you @GarthBrooks,” she wrote.

Ahhh, young love.
