Gretchen Wilson Speaks Out Following Recent Arrest

A few days after Gretchen Wilson was arrested for causing a disturbance at an international airport, the 45-year-old singer is responding to the incident.

Gretchen took to social media to thank fans for their patience.

“I want to thank my fans for their patience. The unfortunate events that took place last Tuesday night are still an open case matter and so I can’t discuss or comment on any specifics. I would like to respect the process, and am confident that the truth shall prevail.”

Gretchen was arrested Tuesday night (Aug. 21).at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut. Connecticut State Police say she allegedly became belligerent on an incoming flight and caused a disturbance. While police were talking with Gretchen about the incident she became belligerent.

According to TMZ, Gretchen was flying first class where she got into an altercation with another passenger over the use of the plane’s bathroom, where the two exchanged words and eventually got into a shoving match.

Gretchen is best known for her No. 1 country hit, “Redneck Woman,” which catapulted the singer to stardom, earning her a Grammy award in 2004. She followed that up with Top 10 hits, “Here for the Party,” and “When I Think About Cheating.”
