Texans love Texas. They also love other Texans. Which is why George Strait was happy to play his part in the Hand-In-Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief.

Strait’s all-star jam took place at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, with Matthew McConaughey introduced the famous Texans– George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen and their Kentucky brother, Chris Stapleton.

Throughout most of the evening, cameras bounced from Los Angeles to New York to Nashville. This was the only performance from the state most impacted by Hurricane Harvey, with McConaughey sharing beforehand, “We can’t bring back what they lost, but we can help them know where to take the next step and provide some solid footing for them to place the next foot — a path to stability, to a place where they can rebuild. This is what they need and this is what we can give them.”

Sometimes, Texans are a prideful bunch, but this will make you want to get a tattoo of the Alamo on your lower back.

At press time, $14.5 million had been raised for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
