Country legend Hank Williams Jr. is mourning the death of his youngest daughter Katherine Williams-Dunning, who died in a car accident on Saturday night. She was 27 years old.

Katie and her husband Tyler Dunning were driving on Highway 79 near West Antioch Road northeast of Paris when the car, which was towing a boat, crossed over the four-lane highway and began to rollover before stopping on the shoulder.

Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Brad Wilbanks told The Paris Post Intelligencer that Katherine died from her injuries and her husband Tyler was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

“This is an active investigation and more details will be made available later,” Wilbanks told the outlet.

Katie was Hank Jr.’s youngest daughter. The country legend has five children— son Hank III from first wife Gwen Yeargain, daughters Holly and Hilary from second wife Becky White and daughter Katie and son Samuel from third wife Mary Jane Thomas.

Katie and her husband Tyler married in 2015 and they share two small children, Beau, 5, and Audrey, 2.

Katie’s sister Holly shared that Tyler was awake and responding but they do not know the extent of his injuries at this time.

Our hearts go out to the Williams family during this difficult time.
