Harry Styles is turning into a Renaissance man- his debut solo album broke sales records and he is the breakout star of the blockbusting war film “Dunkirk.” So what is next for the British artist? Maybe country music.
In a recent interview with Elvis Duran, Styles was given a list of huge musicians (including 30 Seconds To Mars, former bandmate Niall Horan, Coldplay, DJ Khaled, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Lorde, Thomas Rhett, Kings of Leon, and David Guetta) and asked which artist Styles would most like to collaborate with. The majority of the artists are pop artists right up Styles’ lane, but he surprised Duran (and us!) when he said that he would most want to collaborate with Chris Stapleton.
Stapleton is an incredible artist and has joined forces with a former boy band singer before– his 2015 CMA performance with Justin Timberlake is one of the all time great awards show collaborations. Stapleton can write just as well as anyone in music, and Styles seems interested in country. A collaboration could be very interesting.
Duran’s co-host noted that Styles has the right “chill swagger” saying, “I think you could do country very easily.” Styles kindly replied, “I think it takes a little more than being chill.”
Behold, the face of a man who wishes his co-host would stop talking:
