The tiny house craze has seemed to take over the United States over the last few years. More and more people are ditching their material possessions and ample amounts of space for tiny homes that contain the bare necessities– and now Jake Owen is one of them.
Owen went on the Bobby Bones Show and discussed his decision to sell his 4,918-square-foot home. “What happened is, I sold my house, not thinking I was going to sell it that fast,” he said. “I put it on the market on a Monday, and it sold on a Wednesday. [The buyers] wanted to be in basically by Christmas.”
He’d already purchased a piece of land near his old home, but he didn’t have a house or plans for one. So, he looked into tiny homes so he could move quickly. While his old house had four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a home studio and workout space, his new pad is 400-square-feet. “I’m not lying to you,” he said. “It’s 400 square feet. And I love it!”
While he’s yet to share pictures of his new humble abode, we got to see the inside of his old place (which is stunning, by the way), so we can imagine how much of an adjustment it was for him.
Jake recently announced his Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour with Chris Jason, which will kick off on May 18 in Chattanooga.
