Jana Kramer Details the Heartache of Miscarriage In New Video

Jana Kramer is incredibly candid in her new Vlog series on YouTube, where she shares her journey to becoming pregnant with her second child. In the second episode, she details the often heartbreaking journey of In vitro fertilization (IVF) for couples. The 11-minute video clip follows the steps leading up to her most recent pregnancy, which happened naturally after her third miscarriage and second failed attempt at IVF with husband Michael Caussin.

“I want to be as open and honest and raw as possible and that’s why I’m doing this,” she says at the video’s start. “I want to share this video with ya’ll about my journey to becoming pregnant again and to make those out there not feel so alone. In the comment section below please share your stories and lets all be there for each other and offer love, hope and prayers!”

The singer says ahead of IVF, she had only three embryos. While she got pregnant naturally with her first daughter, Jolie, after a failed attempt at IVF she and Michael decided to try the process again. In a tearful video learning that she miscarried again, she discusses the pain she felt.

“That’s the problem with miscarriage . . . it’s not talked about and it should be,” she admits. “It’s sad because when you find out you’re pregnant it’s so exciting and you want to shout it and tell everybody but you don’t because of stuff like this. Instead, you’re left alone with this feeling of being so alone.”

Jana shares that she got pregnant twice after having Jolie but lost both babies. During her last miscarriage she was nine weeks pregnant when the doctor realized the baby stopped growing at eight weeks. “I’m gonna cry it out and pour myself a huge glass of wine,” she says in a tearful clip.

She documented preparing to be implanted with the last embryo she had, sharing the shots she had to be given and all the vitamins she had to take ahead of the process. Once the embryo was implanted she began taking pregnancy tests, hopeful one would give her the response she wanted. Her next clip shares a different outcome, though, as she learns she has miscarried again. Months later, she is hesitant to announce that she is pregnant. This time, however, it happened naturally.

“We are pregnant now, almost 19 weeks,” she shares with a smile. “I know how extremely fortunate I am. I have a beautiful daughter and I’m so lucky to have her. I know there are still so many women out there who are still struggling to conceive their first child. I have felt a piece of your pain but I do want you to know there are a lot of women out there who have. I want us women to rally around each other and support each other. It’s hard feeling all these thoughts alone. You’re not alone and we’re all here for you.”
