The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and while it’s debatable if musical talent is part of someone’s DNA, it sure seems as if musicians produce musicians. Vince Gill’s daughter, Jenny, Toby Keith’s daughter, Krystal, heck, even Lady Antebellum’s littles have shown a propensity towards musical ability. And now, it seems that Jason Aldean’s offspring may flex their musical muscles.
In an interview with “Sunday Today’s” Willie Geist, Jason announced that his eldest daughter, Keeley, is becoming quite a guitar slinger.
“My oldest daughter, who’s 15, Keeley, she just recently started playing guitar and wanting to play guitar and I said, ‘Well, cool. I wrote out some stuff and showed her some things and I’m like, ‘Well, how do you want to play? Do you want to play acoustic like I play?’ And she said, ‘No, I want to play like Slash,” he said laughing.
Jason admitted to his teen he may not be much help in teaching her to shred like the Guns N’ Roses axeman, but he did set her on the right path and says that Keeley has evolved from scales to Aerosmith. “She’s picking it up pretty quick,” he admitted.
But the 15-year-old isn’t the only one with skills. Jason says that his youngest girl, Kendyl, has got a pretty impressive voice.
“My 10-year-old daughter, she’s actually a pretty good little singer if she would sing,” he said. “You’ll catch her in the car sometimes and you’re like, ‘Man, that’s pretty good.’ Then when you want her to sing, she won’t sing. If she gets out of that stage, who knows. They might be the new Heart.”
We still have a little while before we know if baby Memphis will be strumming, shredding or singing, but we’re pretty sure Keeley and Kendyl might find a way to work their baby brother into the act.
