Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany, is a star herself on Instagram. The new mom has over 900 thousand followers. That’s a lot of people following your every word. So when Brittany posted that she was leaving her son Memphis at home for a little R&R with her hubby, the social media trolls and moms who like to tell other people how to parent, jumped on her for leaving her newborn.

Well, Brittany wasn’t having it. She also wasn’t going to feel bad for taking care of herself and her husband, nor should she. Brittany followed up the original Instagram post with a photo of her and Jason having fun on the beach.

The post read, “Much needed vacay☀ Just a word of wisdom for all the parent shamers… vacations are ok for new parents to take. Sometimes after being pregnant for almost a year, cooped up in a house for weeks at a time, you need a little sunshine and adult time. IT IS NOT OK to leave your ignorant comments. If you don’t agree with something, PLEASE… do me a favor and unfollow me. You will NOT be missed♥ And for all the sweet, positive, happy people… we love you and thank you!!”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. In a world taken over by social media, there is no logical reason why A LOT of people feel the need to take others down. Just because something works for you, doesn’t mean it will work for others. Like mom always said, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

As a result, several followers came to Brittany’s defense. kbirney323 said, “Enjoy your time with Jason..you need that! Even after many years we still find ourselves thinking about our kids when we are away together but that is normal. We always say though that we needed that little getaway..it will all be ok”

In addition, brenee_ward said, “He will be fine! Mom and Dad trips are so very important. I waited nearly 10 yrs after my kiddos were born to take a trip without them. Looking back I think of how ridiculous it was not to leave them and go have some alone time with my husband and friends.”

We should all be more supportive like them. Brittany’s right, scroll along or don’t follow if you can’t be nice. No one needs the extra negativity. There is enough in the world without adding to it.
