Since taking a hiatus from country super duo, Sugarland in 2012, Jennifer Nettles has been busy working on her solo career. The singer has released a solo album, Playing With Fire, starred in Dolly Parton’s TV movie” Coat of Many Colors,” and took on roles in musicals such as Chicagoand Mamma Mia!”

Now Jennifer is back in the studio, but she’s not cutting country songs. The “Unlove You” singer was asked to be a part of the series “Out of Oz: The Wicked Studio Sessions,” where past and present stars of the Broadway musical put their own spin on re-created versions of Stephen Schwartz songs from the musical. Nettles has yet to appear in “Wicked,” but her appearance on “Out of Oz” could be a hint of a future appearance.. One never knows.

Nettles joins Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenowith, Rachel Tucker and Aaron Tveit, among artist who have already participated in the sessions. For her part, Nettles takes on the song “No Good Deed,” giving it a high-energy stirring spin.

“I love the music so much,” Nettles tells PEOPLE. “I first saw Wicked about 11 years ago and I’ve seen it very many times since. Growing up doing theater and loving musical theater, Wicked was a game changer for me. I felt empowered by these two fabulous women at the center of its story, and swept away by these wonderful songs — all of which helped put a different spin on something we all knew, The Wizard of Oz. I just loved it.”
